2K in DC for anti-Koch rally (video)

A new report says 2,000 people marched in Washington to demonstrate against the Koch brothers' evil influence on America. This short video gives you an idea of the protesters' intensity:

Rally Girl brings us this report:

In an act of solidarity, remembrance and defiance, Teamsters joined 2,000 union members, union supporters, environmentalists and community activists at a rally in front of Koch headquarters today in Washington, D.C.
After marching through the streets of the city from the Treasury Department to Koch Industries at 600 14th St, NW—the same building that protesters stormed less than a month ago—ralliers presented a signed petition to Charles and David Koch, demanding an end to union busting and fair treatment for workers everywhere.

The rally honored and commemorated Martin Luther King, Jr. who was assassinated 43 years ago today while fighting for the rights of Memphis sanitation workers.

Among those to address the crowd was Ben Jealous, president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Jealous spoke about King’s sacrifice and the importance of his work. He also quoted the pledge of allegiance, which calls for liberty and justice for all Americans—not just those who have money.

Jealous reminded the crowd that 10 percent of America’s population owns 70 percent of the country’s wealth and it is labor unions that have ensured working people are able to eat, put a roof over their heads and live a middle-class lifestyle.
