Marcus Hedger was fired because he defended his union contract against a predatory private equity firm. The National Labor Relations Board ruled the company broke the law, and that Hedger had to get his job back, with back pay.
But the company appealed, and Hedger has been in limbo ever since. The NLRB can't do anything about it. The board can't function until President Obama's appointments are approved, and Republicans are holding them up.
Marcus Hedger is just one of many reasons we need a functioning NLRB.
