Pray for Gabrielle Giffords, champion of Social Security

The Arizona congresswoman and 17 others were shot during a meet-and-greet at a Safeway store in Tucson. Six have died. The latest news reports say Giffords is undergoing surgery at Tucson Medical Center and fighting for her life.

This is horrible. Our prayers are with Rep. Giffords, with those killed and wounded in this tragedy and with all their loved ones.

The Teamsters strongly supported Gabrielle Giffords' fight against cutting Social Security. Last year, she sponsored a resolution in the House of Representatives opposing any increase in the retirement age, and Teamsters wrote to their elected representatives urging they cosponsor her resolution.
