Remember November Part III

We'll remember.
Four proud Teamsters are running for the Indiana state Legislature as part of this year's union tsunami. For the 125 offices on the ballot in 2012, 55 union members or former union members are running. They all remember who voted for RTW4less in November.

Hoosier Teamsters are already registering union members to vote. We've heard that only 40 percent of union members in Indiana are registered, which is exactly how anti-worker bills like RTW4less become law.

Local 135's political director Jeff Combs tells us the four Teamster candidates  are:
  • Jim Cahill,  president of Local 716 in Indianapolis. He is running as a Democrat for state Senate in District 37, which is southwest of Indianapolis and includes Martinsville, Mooresville and Bergersville.
  • Brad Thompson, member of Local 1070 in Lafayette, is running for state representative.
  • Jerod Warnock, business agent for Local 135 in Indianapolis, is running for an open seat in South Bend as a Democrat.
  • Jim Kincaid, member of Local 89 in Louisville, is running for state representative.
We'll have more on these candidates soon. In the meantime, all you Hoosiers need to do what you can to put our brothers in office. Call Jeff at Local 135 (317) 639-3541 or email him at jcombs@local135.com.
