They admit it: Punishing Democrats is reason for SB5

Maybe we should call them "Benedict" and "Arnold" instead.
Here are some lies things corporate stooge Ohio Gov. John Kasich has said about SB5, the bill to destroy government worker unions:
  • We ... want to give the local government officials -- the mayors and the school people -- the tools they need to control their costs.
  • This is part of a whole series of reforms....designed to set the stage for economic growth.
That's not the real reason Kasich, a Republican, pushed through SB5 (now Issue 2, which Ohioans should vote "No" on). Kasich really wanted to lower the standard of living for union members who give money to his Democratic opponents.

Ohio's Blog of Mass Destruction got hold of an email sent by the head of the Portage County TEA Party, Todd Zawistowski, to members. The email said,
So, let me be clear. Everyone else can have whatever motivations they want to support issue 2, but for the TEA Party/Patriot movement our number one goal is to de-fund the union leadership and thus their exclusive partners in the Democratic Party and take back control of our government. (Emphasis added.)
And this:
…they (Democrats) will not have the money to compete in Ohio next year. Barack Obama and Sherrod Brown will lose Ohio and be thrown out of office in 2012. The Governor and the Ohio Legislature will be emboldened and thus willing to introduce more conservative legislation like Workman's Comp reform, Right to Work, School Choice and much more…
Nice, hunh? As Laura Clawson at DailyKos notes,
Winning Issue 2 and having SB 5 become law would be a win-win-win-win for Zawistowski and Kasich and their allies. It would hurt individual nurses and school janitors and police dispatchers.
But we have a question for the Tea Party/Patriot movement of Ohio: Will you give back any money you've received from the Benedict Arnold Koch brothers, who trafficked with our enemy, Iran?

The Benedict Arnold Koch brothers have already funneled money to FreedomWorks, a Tea Party group that has spent millions to support SB5. We think that if Ohio's Tea Party is truly patriotic it will give back any Koch-tainted funds and insist that other patriotic organizations do the same.
