Growing Occupy movement knows what it wants (VIDEO)

Check out Teamsters Local 111 at 14 seconds. And thanks to We Party Patriots for the great video.

Occupy protests are taking place in 70 cities the weekend, according to The Guardian:
The Wall Street protests against economic inequality and corporate greed that targeted the nerve centre of American capitalism are no longer merely a New York phenomenon. This weekend, from Seattle and Los Angeles on the west coast to Providence, Rhode Island, and Tampa, Florida, on the east, as many as 70 major cities and more than 600 communities have joined the swelling wave of civil dissent. The slogan "Occupy Wall Street" has been suitably abbreviated to a single word: "Occupy."
The Guardian may be underestimating the number of communities supporting the Occupy movement. According to Occupy Together, the total is closer to a thousand. Activists are getting organized now in places like Mount Shasta, Calif., Saugerties, N.Y., and Dalton, Ga.

Teamsters Local 542 is encouraging members to Occupy San Diego today:

Occupy San Diego begins TODAY. Meet at Children’s Park (Front Street and Island Avenue) between 2-4 p.m. Starting at 4 p.m., march to San Diego Civic Center. The San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council stands with Occupy San Diego, and urges all of our affiliates and allies to do the same in whatever capacity they can.
David Maris at Forbes (seriously) posted an excellent blog about what the occupiers want (as if it isn't obvious):
...the protesters, knowingly or not, are fairly unified a few basic beliefs.
Here is what our survey of the Occupy Wall Street protesters found:
•80% of those polled said that the rich should pay higher taxes and that it’s fair that approximately the top 10% of tax payers pay more than 70% of the taxes in the US and about 40% of employed people pay no income tax.

•93% say that student loan debt should be forgiven...
•98% believe that Insurance companies make too much money and some of their profits should be taken to pay for more healthcare for others
•95% believe that drug prices should be controlled...
•88% agree with the statement that “The government should put some controls on CEO pay – like limited to 20x or 30x the lowest paid employee.”
Maris asked the Occupiers' take on various institutions
We asked respondents “1 to 10, with 0=Horrible and 10=GREAT, what are your impressions of the following organizations?:
Banks (such as Goldman Sachs) 1.2
Conglomerates 1.0
Oil Companies (such as ExxonMobil) 1.0
Tech companies (such as Apple, Google) 5.2
Auto companies (such as GM) 2.9
Drug companies (such as Pfizer) 1.5
Congress 1.7
Labor Unions 6.5
