This is what we union THUGGS do in Hodges Park

We walk 3.1 miles to raise money to fight breast cancer and to support those who have the disease.

The Teamsters Joint Council 25 Women’s Committee is encouraging members and their families to join the Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk on May 4 at Hodges Park in Park Ridge, Ill. Joint Council 25 represents more than 125,000 hardworking Teamsters throughout Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

The Making Strides event is part of a joint effort between the Women's Committee and the American Cancer Society.

Sister Debra Simmons-Peterson, president of the Women's Committee, said they raised $25,000 last year:
We want to do even more this year. So many of us have been affected by this disease in one way or another, and the Women’s Committee wants to do its part to help find a cure and help those who are battling breast cancer every day.
Grace Catalano of the American Cancer Society said they want to raise twice as much as they did last year.

Joint Council 25 President John Coli thinks they'll do even better. He's encouraging people to get involved and join the walk on May 4.
