This is a song for everyman, protesting the failed economics of the trickle down theory. The rich get richer and the middle class pays more and more. What's trickling down is not money but something else. The wealthy pay a low percentage of income tax while the middle class pays more and more. The theory that the wealthy will create jobs through their excessive spending is not happening. People are ready to work, ready to have a job...just waiting for something to trickle down.
