Take action: Demand trade talks be open to public

The latest job-killing corporate power grab trade deal is being negotiated in complete secrecy in Dallas from May 8-18. It's called the Trans-Pacific Partnership, whatever that means. Even though ordinary citizens aren't allowed to know what's in it, 600 corporate lobbyists are in on the deal.

There's a rally planned against TPP secrecy a week from tomorrow. You can bet our Teamster brothers and sisters in Texas will be there. Expect Brent Taylor, principal officer of Local 745, to be one of the speakers.

As the flier says,
Our best chance of preventing a "NAFTA of the Pacific" is to come together now and drag the TPP out of the shadows.
Do your part to drag the TPP into the sunshine. Sign a petition here. As it says,
The Trans-Pacific Free Trade Agreement is likely to impact jobs, wages, agriculture, migration, the environment, access to medicine, consumer safety, banking regulations, indigenous rights, Internet freedom, government procurement and more. A pact this far-reaching should be negotiated in the most transparent and participatory manner possible.
