The best thing about this rally was that it was a true grassroots action, organized by a few individuals in a show of solidarity with the people of Wisconsin, whose rights are being trampled by their elected officials in an undemocratic manner. I was reminded by one of the speakers at the rally that human rights are inherent and cannot be taken away. And when those in power try to restrict our rights illegally, we must take them back. As one of the chants at today’s rally went, “This is what democracy looks like."

DC rallies in solidarity with WI workers
Workers outraged by the attacks on Wisconsin public sector employees held a solidarity rally in Washington, D.C., this afternoon. It was held outside Koch whore Gov. Scott Walker’s office near the Capitol. Teamsters were out in full force with plenty of “Stop the War on Workers” signs. The grassroots event was coordinated via Facebook and brought together all kinds of supporters who chanted, “An Injury to One is an Injury to All.” More than a hundred people showed up with less than 24 hours’ notice. Teamster sister Elissa Laitin was among the crowd and had this to say about the show of support:
