Challenge: Buy only 'Made in America' for a week




Buying only American-made products for a week? Easier said than done! When Joey Fortman, a mother from Philadelphia, was challenged to purchase only domestically-produced goods, she did not expect just how difficult it would be. Not only are most essential everyday products imported, but most goods have at least some imported parts. Fortman takes pride in buying products created by fellow Americans, knowing that she is helping to keep jobs in America. However, she was shocked to discover how much more time and effort this task requires.

If you're planning on hosting a cookout or barbeque in honor of America’s independence this week, be sure to celebrate with supplies made within the country.
