This is what we union thugs do in Canada

We raise money for breast cancer research, and we buy toys for children at shelters.

The Teamsters Quebec Women’s Caucus, Teamsters Ontario Women’s Caucus and the Teamsters Canada youth committee participated this October in the CIBC Run for the Cure. Through various fundraising activities and events held throughout the year, the groups were able to raise an impressive $28,500 for breast cancer research.

The tireless Brigitte Sottile, director of education for Teamsters Canada and president of the Teamsters Quebec Women’s Caucus, is already at work on the group’s next project:

We’re in the process of raising money for the women’s shelter we help. Canadian Tire is a store here that gives you fake money back when you buy something – it’s like a coupon. We’re collecting these to take back to the store to buy toys for the kids at the shelter. When the children wake up on Christmas at the shelter there are no gifts, so we are going to have gifts for them. When we fundraise, we don’t feel like we are asking for a lot because people have these coupons all over. They will say, “I found $3 in coupons in my house,” and they are excited to donate them for a good cause.
