Rick Scott wins Worst Governor Ever contest

Florida Gov. Rick Scott beat out such tough competition as Ohio's John Kasich, Texas' Rick Perry, New Jersey's Chris Christie and Wisconsin's Scott Walker in the Transport Workers Union contest.

The AFL-CIO blog explains,

The contest is part of the union’s Workers’ Rights Are Human Rights campaign and will help expose the extreme agenda of reactionary governors and let Americans send a message to the governor of their choosing that he or she is the worst governor ever.
Along with Perry, Walker, Scott, Kasich and Christie, there are other pretty rotten governors to choose from—Tom Corbett of Pennsylvania, Rick Snyder of Michigan, Paul LePage of Maine and Jan Brewer of Arizona.
Voters could send an email to their least favorite governor explaining what he (or she) did to earn that vote. The "Worst Governor Ever" websites lists Scott's accomplishments as:
  • Wants to cut $4 billion in spending while lowering taxes for the rich
  • Increased retirement costs for state workers
  • Gave back billions of dollars for high speed rail
  • Attacking teachers and their unions
We would add privatizing prisons to that litany of sins. Among others. The "Firing Rick Scott" Facebook page keeps a running tab.

And to Pink Slip Rick, we offer our heartiest congratulations.
