Wisconsin state Sen. Alberta Not-so-Darling actually went on the radio and said people making $250,000 a year are not wealthy.
Seriously.
Here are her exact words, thanks to Greg Sargent at the Washington Post:
I just went to a woman today and she said, “Why are you giving tax breaks to the wealthy?” I said, “What do you consider wealthy?” She said, “$250,000 and above.”
And I said “that is small business.” Those are small business people. Those aren’t wealthy people. We are not interested in raising taxes on the quote “rich.”We Are Wisconsin notes that Sen. Not-so-Darling is independently wealthy. No crime in that. But We Are Wisconsin points out Not-so-D thinks people earning more than $250,000 a year should pay fewer taxes than seniors and working families. She votes that way, too.
No wonder the Kochs and their pals are pouring money into her recall election. She's one of them!
Last we heard, state Rep. Sandy Pasch is gaining ground on Not-so-Darling. Blogging Blue has some advice for how you can help here.
