VIDEO. Arlo Guthrie. WI Capitol. You know what he sang. Way cool.

Today, just hours ago, Arlo Guthrie joined the Solidarity Singers for their daily singalong at the Wisconsin Capitol. Of course they sang "This Land Is Your Land," only they added a few Wisconsin lyrics to what is now an anthem in the War on Workers.  (We like the "This House is our House" verse.)

Guthrie was in Madison because he performed at a benefit concert for Wisconsin's struggling workers last night. It was his father Woody's 99th birthday. For all you youngsters out there, Woody Guthrie wrote "This Land Is Your Land," and a boatload of songs about workers' struggle for justice. Woody was a union organizer in coal mines, factories and fields, and an ardent anti-fascist who wrote on his guitar, "This machine kills fascists." Arlo wrote "City of New Orleans," "Alice's Restaurant," and "Coming in to Los Angeles," which he famously sang at Woodstock
