Cards and letters on Mexican trucks are rolling in

Teamsters are doing a great job telling the Department of Transportation to keep the border closed to Mexican trucks.

Hundreds of Teamster comments are being posted to the docket. You can read them here.

Some of our favorites:
Our retired Teamster brother Mark J. Zuganelis wrote,
It is shameful that the FMCSA is proposing to open the border to Mexican trucks. Not only are Mexican trucks unsafe, but their drivers aren't as well-trained as ours. Jobs will be lost, with people on unemployment. More houses in foreclosure.
Our sister Farilyn Chappell from Missouri writes:
As a Christian, a citizen of the United States, a Teamster, a mother and a grandmother, I must tell you that I feel the cross-border trucking issue is just simply wrong.
We have so many hard working Americans citizens 1ooking for jobs right now. Young people just starting out. Middle class family workers that have lost their jobs and are trying to replace those lost jobs. Older workers whose pension and retirement benefits have been cut or because of the economy and rising food and fuel prices are finding their retirement monies don't go as far as they once did are having to go back into the job market. Why now, when unemployment is at an all-time high, would the Department of Transportation want to fuel the problem by opening the border?
And we loved the P.S. on brother Michael A. Ceoffe's letter:
Just Don't Do It!
