NJ Gov Gone Wild gets award for ruining state

New Jersey Gov. Gone Wild Chris Christie will receive the Pete du Pont Freedom Award at a dinner in Delaware in September. In a statement announcing the award, du Pont, a former Republican governor of Delaware, said:
Those of us in Delaware who value individual freedom enabled by smaller and less intrusive government have watched with almost hometown pride as Chris Christie had led New Jersey away from a government that was out of control.
Hometown pride? The people who actually call New Jersey their hometown don’t have much pride for Christie.

A poll released yesterday puts Christie’s popularity at an all-time low. The first poll conducted since Christie signed the state budget and overhaul of public employee benefits shows 53 percent disapprove of his job performance and only 43 percent approve. In January, 45 percent disapproved and 48 percent approved of his job performance.

Christie recently cut $45 million in tax credits for working poor, $9 million in health care for the working poor, $8 million for women’s health care, $8 million in AIDS funding and $9 million in mental health services. This is on top of selling out the middle class to destroy government unions.

The du Pont award includes a $10,000 prize. The governor would be well advised to donate the cash, or at least use it next time he has to get to his kids’ baseball game.
