Election WAS your Waterloo, Walker

Koch whore Gov. Scott Walker claims that yesterday's defeat of Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser wasn't a referendum on him.

BWAA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

The facts tell quite another story (often the case with Walker). Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg’s victory over Prosser sent a clear message that Wisconsin voters will not tolerate Walker’s attacks on workers. They won't support his friends, either.  Teachers, firefighters, nurses, teamsters and working people across the state turned out because a vote for David Prosser was a vote for Scott Walker.

  • Nineteen counties that voted for Walker in the 2010 election flipped and went to Kloppenburg.
  • Two months ago Prosser, who held the seat for 30 years, had a 55 percent to 25 percent lead over Kloppenburg. This week Kloppenburg won by 206 votes.
  • Prosser oustpent Kloppenburg. He collected more than $2 million in contributions from Walker donors like the Koch brothers’ front groups.
Kloppenburg had an edge in grassroots mobilization because workers are furious about Walker's attacks on them.

Prosser’s loss is rightfully being dubbed “Walker’s Waterloo.” MSNBC reports:

Walker’s poll numbers have plummeted. The legislation is now locked up in the courts. The Democratic opposition remains fired up. And the state appears headed for a slew of recall elections this spring and summer. If congressional Republicans should have learned any lesson from the budget showdown in Wisconsin, it was this: quit while you’re ahead.
The clock is ticking. Walker has only 270 days before he's recalled. Papers have already been filed to recall Sen. Dan Hanky-Kapanke and by late this afternoon recall papers will be filed for randy Sen. Randy Hopper. Go to the Teamsters recall page for more information on how to recall your Wisconsin senator.
